Course content
|
Basic macroeconomic terms. Measurement of efficiency of the national economy, domestic product, national product and national income. Consumption and savings, consumption function, saving function. Investments. Aggregate demand and aggregate supply. Theory of determination product, investment multiplier. Economic cycles. Money and banking, money development, functions of money, motives of money holdings, money market, money demand, money supply. Unemployment, main demographic characteristics, measurement of unemployment, types of unemployment. Inflation, price index, inflation measurement, causes and types of inflation, Phillip's curve. Monetary policy of central bank, instruments of monetary policy, basic types of monetary policy, basic dilemma of monetary policy. Fiscal policy, instruments of fiscal policy, state budget, deficits, state debt, interaction between monetary and fiscal policy. International trade, balance of payment, protectionism. Exchange rates, international monetary system. Time allowance, summary of issue.

Learning outcomes
|
To familiarize students with basic macroeconomics terms and theoretical macroeconomics approach. The students will get acknowledged with functioning of real economy. They will obtain general overview of basic macroeconomics issues.
After passing this subject, the student understands basic macroeconomic terms and has general view of basic macroeconomic issues.

It's expected the knowledge from secondary mathematics.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation
The student must prove during the semester and also by the exam, that he/she understands basic macroeconomic terms and the ability to calculate the macroeconomics. The tutor will notify the students within the first week of the term with the concrete requirements.
