Course content
|
Origin and development of Sociology; its points and meaning at the topical society community. Trend, function and structure of Sociology; the particular sociology disciplines. Purposes, methodological principles and basic steps of the sociological research. Basic methods and techniques of the sociological research. Person and society; social behavior; social verification. Social settlements and groups; sociometric. Social stratification; sort and strata of population. Social mobility and disparity; mobility of labor. The process of industrialization; industrial and post-industrial society. Sociology cities and country-side; the process of urbanization. The social pathologic phenomena, possibilities their solution and prevention. Lifestyle and free time; family; position of women, teen-agers and old generation. Job as a social process; the new tendency in the structure employment rate.

Learning outcomes
|
To make students acquainted with the grounding of Sociology, to clear up pieces of knowledge out of the methodology, the common Sociology and the partial choice sociological branches and to teach them to make use of these pieces of knowledge during classification social phenomena in the workplace. To make students acquainted with using basic sociological methods and their application for managers.
The student acquires pieces of knowledge from the methodology, the common Sociology and the partial choice sociological branches after passing this subject and he meets possibilities usage of the basic sociology methods. The student is able to analyze interpersonal relationships to compile sociometric matrix to calculate sociometric indexes and indicators of the mobility of labor. He acquires skill the working with the graph of inter - generational mobility and the chronological picture.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination
The student has to prove understanding of the solving problems and the knowledge of this subject in range instructing. The tutor will notify the concrete requirements to the students within the first week of the term.
