Course content
Road traffic safety - legislation in the Czech Republic; road traffic safety - EU legislation BESIP - Danger and safety in road traffic Forensic engineering - in general Forensic engineering - selected methods of the forensic engineering analysis Forensic engineering - analysis of road accidents Basic functions of the system human - means of transport - transport environment Psychological analysis of road traffic participants; The influence of alcohol, drugs and other addictive substances on the drive and driver's traffic behaviour Traffic accident - the duties of the participants The application of mechanics in drive of motor vehicles Safe driving principles (car, motorcycle) Safe driving principles (driving with a trailer, in a reduced visibility, extricating the vehicles) Roads and their facilities in the view of the road traffic safety, safety characteristics of a road Technical conditions of means of transport in relation to the road traffic safety

Learning outcomes
The aim is to expand the students' theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of road traffic safety. The subject deals with the road traffic safety in general. Students work on the basis of system approach of solving this serious legal, technical and social issue. It acquaints with forensic engineering as a scientific discipline dealing with traffic accidents. It explains the task of BESIP in the road transport sphere. It presents applying of mechanics in relation to a safe use of vehicle. It informs of the legislation in the transport field. It is a part of a complex preparation of a transport engineer in the Master's study form.
After passing the subject, the student is acquainted with latest knowledge in the sphere of road traffic safety and forensic engineering. They shall be allowed to confront their knowledge and skills with practice.
Prerequisites
Knowledge corresponding to passing compulsory subjects in the transport means field. Initiative approach towards acquiring new information. Ability to apply the information and knowledge acquired in the practical activity. To know the basis of presentation skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

In the course of the semester and at the final exam, the student has to demonstrate the knowledge of the topics discussed including analyzing a simple traffic accident. Concrete requirements shall be given to the students by the tutor in the first week of the semester.
