Course content
Technical legislation in technical operation of vehicles of road and urban passenger transportation, characteristics of operation of vehicles of road and urban passenger transportation. Applied factors on fuel consumption, fuel consumption measuring, alternative fuels, ecology. Real possibilities of fuel consumption reducing and negative impact on environment. Principles of supervision over technical state of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation. Characterization of programme of maintenance and reparation of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation. Technical state of vehicles in relation to road-traffic safety. Characterization of degradation processes consequences on technical state of vehicles. Types of elements (machine elements) degradation of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation , possibilities of interaction. New trends in vehicles construction - new views on their technical operation. Road vehicles in intermodal transport road - railway, drivers and technical operation. Recycling of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation - legislation, trends, dismantling processes. Operation of urban passenger transportation. Stations and stops of urban passenger transportation . Tram-lines. Bus stations. Characteristics of fundamental constructions in urban passenger transportation. Changing stations. Transportation areas. Depots and parking spaces. Organisation and management of transportation areas.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to make students acquainted with problems of technical operation of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation, especially with technical legislation, purpose of supervision over technical state of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation, vehicles maintenance; practically with problems of fuel consumption, environmental procedures in technical operation, degradation processes and their consequences on technical state of vehicles, organization and managing of transport areas.
After passing this subject students can orientate themselves in problems of technical operation of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation and in relevant technical standards. They are familiar with principles of supervision over technical state of road vehicles and vehicles for urban passenger transportation, especially with problems of fuel consumption, degradation processes and their consequences on technical state of vehicles, ecological aspects of technical operation, organization and management of transport areas.
Prerequisites
Understanding of theory and construction of vehicles, theory of maintenance and reparation of vehicles is supposed.

Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation, Work-related product analysis, Discussion

During the semester and at the examination students must prove understanding of methods and procedures and ability to solve practical problems individually. Student must elaborate and present their semester thesis. The concrete requirements will be announced at the beginning of the semester.
