Course content

External impacts of vehicles on particular parts of environment. External impacts of transport buildings on particular parts of environment. The emission of pollutants into the air. The emission characteristics of spark ignition and diesel engines. Sewerage water. Typical pollutants in sewerage water. The method of evaluation of sewerage water pollution. Waste. Charakteristic, definitions. Typical types of waste, category. Hazardous waste. Evaluation of toxic waste, chemicals and products. Rating the subsequent hazard of waste. Transport impacts on soil pollution. Characteristic of oil substance. Methods for monitoring of the influence. Methods for measuring air emissions. Monitoring pollution of the waters and soil environment Noise study. The definitions, concepts. Existing burden and its evaluation. Transport impacts on the public health. Authorities of the public health protection. EIA, environmental impact assessment and health. IPPC. Dispersal study. The definitions of basic concepts and the basic methodology for processing dispersal studies. Safety in service. Transport of dangerous goods. The definitions and concepts. The ADR and RID directives.

Learning outcomes
|
Give information about the effects of transport buildings and vehicles on environmental parts. Give a comprehensive summary of environmental legislation and methods for environmental transport effects evaluation.
Studying this course students obtain basic knowledge about impacts of transport buildings and vehicles on the environment and its particular parts. They will be able to analyse the environmental impacts individually.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of chemistry and ICT in the range of secondary studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination
The assignment confirms that, the student of daily form of schooling attended obligatory education properly, that he joined solving of assigned tasks actively, and that he fulfilled requests which are necessary for this assignment confirmation. Conditions for assignment confirmation are determined by tutor. Exam from this course (form, conclusion, duration) is in conformity with Studying and examining rules of University Pardubice. The exam consists of oral and writing parts. The successful passing of writing part is necessary condition for oral exam. During final exam student has to prove his understanding of topics mentioned above and to prove ability to solve assigned tasks individually. Particular requests will be past to students in the first part of education by tutor.
