Course content
Global and local problems of environment protection and creation (of protection and creating environment) Principle of sustainable development. Environmental monitoring. Transport impact on air, soil, water, organism and health of people. Criteria and limits of environmental pollution from transport - link to international regulations. Alternative resources of energy in transport. Environmental legislature - the most important legal regulations and its commentary Waste management in the transport. Determination and evaluation of waste properties. Technologies for reduction of environmental negative impacts of transport. Particular technical solutions of selected environmental protection problems in transport. Modern physical, physical-chemical and chemical monitoring methods of environment. Working environment in transport, occupational safety and hygiene. Its connection with peoples health. Environmental information systems.

Learning outcomes
To deepen student´s knowledge of the environmental protection and creation (in particular in transport).
By the course completion student will obtain a detailed knowledge of transport and telecommunications (TAT) impacts on environment and their reduction. He/she is familiar with modern physical, physical-chemical and chemical monitoring methods and environmental legal aspects. He/she has learned classical and alternative resources of energy, harmful effects of noise, vibration, electromagnetic fields and radiation on people health. He/she is familiar with the waste management (disposal technologies regarding electro-waste and waste from transport), working environmental factors. He/she is equipped with the knowledge of further environmental aspects in the transport and telecommunication in accordance with the specialization of the student and his/ her dissertation thesis.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the environmental protection, chemistry, physics and ICT.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Exam from this course (form, conclusion, duration) is in conformity with the Study and Examination Regulations of University Pardubice. The exam consists of a writing and an oral part. Passing the writing test is a necessary condition for taking an oral part. It is an obligation to submit a course paper at the end of the semester. During the final examination student has to prove his/her understanding of topics mentioned above and to prove the ability to solve assigned tasks individually. The students will be informed of any specific requirements by the lecturer at the beginning of the semester.
