Course content
The history of the concrete structures, basic ideas and sorting of the concrete structures, the overall fundamentals of the design of the concrete structures. Space solution of the concrete structures. Types of loading, combinations and range of loading. Bridge accessories - movement joints, bearings, drainage system, etc. Abutments - the overall fundamentals of the design and state estimation. Short bridges - culverts, the overall fundamentals of the design. Slab bridges - statically determinate and indeterminate structures from reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete, the overall fundamentals of the design and construction. Arched bridges - the principle of static behavior, principles of construction. Suspension and cable-stayed bridges. The overall principle of bridge construction.

Learning outcomes
This subject should give students an appreciation of design of reinforced and pre-stressed concrete bridges and principles of constructional and technological procedures.
After graduation is student able to make the diploma thesis - the bridge with intermediate span and big span on the level of document for planning and building permission.
Prerequisites
Student must have graduation at object Masonry Bridges I and have to knowledge:Strength of Materials II, Structural Mechanics II and Finite Element Method.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Exam from object (form, content, continuation) is fixed term conformable with educational and examination order.
