Course content
History of aviation, aviation techniques, airfield runway systems, the Prague Airport, Aviation organisations and their adjustment - international and national aviation organisations, aviation regulations. Aircrafts and their influence on airfield construction, classification of aircrafts and their draft units, aircrafts movement, TORA, TODA, ASDA, LDA, take-off and landing nomograms, rough runway length determination, basic airfield elements, airfield codes, runway placement, stopways, clearways, taxiways, terminal areas, take-off and landing areas, terminal building, geometrical airport adjustment and runway location, airport facilities. Obstacle limitation surfaces - take-off climb, approach, inner horizontal and outer horizontal obstacle limitation surface, conical and transitional obstacle limitation surface, inner approach surface and inner transitional surface, balked landing limitation surface. Limitations and denoting obstacles, marking of obstacles, lighting of obstacles, obstacles out of an aerodrome vicinity, denoting restricted use areas. Aerodrome protective zones - protective zones of aerodrome vicinity. Visual aids for navigation. Ground air safeguarding, radio navigation devices, radio-locating device, communication facilities. Air Traffic management, area control service, approach control service, aerodrome control service.

Learning outcomes
To introduce air transport and airfields design and construction.
After graduation have students complex knowledge from sphere of mechanics and diagnostics roadway.
