Course content
Roads: Documentation and instructions for land communication, project documentation, administration and maintenance of roads. Basic nomenclature road, design speed, standard speed, category's width of roads, etc. Horizontal and vertical alignment of routes. Road earthwork, dewatering structures, safety devices and transport buildings. Intersections. Urban roads. Railways: Transport and its relationship to the environment Railway transport and its basic definition, the railway network Management, ownership, and basic regulations in the field of railway construction in the Czech Republic Railway superstructure (railway track geometry parameters, superstructure part) Fundamental parts of the railway substructure and the railway substructure body Bridges: Basic terms, types of bridges, Basic types of steel and concrete bridges. Bridge building, elements and equipments of the bridge, dilatation of abutment, head walls, loading of bridges. Ground structures - tunnels - basic terms.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to acquaint students with terminology and design principles of roads, railways, bridges and underground structures - tunnels.
After graduation have students basic knowledge of terminology and principles designing of land communication, railways, bridges, ground structures - tunnels, airport.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

At least 70 % of attendance on tutorial. Elaboration and submission of all tutorial assignments. Active knowledge and experience of lectured themes.Student have to hand in semestral labour. Exam from object (form, content, continuation) is fixed term conformable with educational and examination order.
