Course content
Regulations regarding the reconstruction and maintenance of railway construction, railway track database. Most important materials and products for repair and construction of railway. Defects and faults of railway superstructure. Defects and faults of railway substructure. Method and devices for diagnosing the condition of parts of the railway superstructure (rail profile and microgeometry, internal defects). Method and devices for diagnosing the condition of parts of the railway superstructure (geometrical characteristics of railway track). Method and devices for diagnosing the condition of parts of the railway substructure. Supervisory activity in railway maintenance and reconstruction works. Maintenance and reconstruction of railway structures, workflows. Maintenance and reconstruction works of railway superstructure. Maintenance and reconstruction works of railway substructure. Workflows, track renewal trains. Mechanization for maintenance and repair of the superstructure and substructure. Constructions for electric traction.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with administration and maintenance of railway constructions, most common defect and faults of railway superstructure and substructure, methods of diagnostics and repair and reconstruction of railway construction.
After completing the course, student is familiar with the area of reconstruction and maintenance of Railway construction.
