Course content
- evaluation of influence lines - analytic and kinematic method - extremes values of static quantities - methods of analysis of the statically indeterminate structures - - stiffness method - numerical models - analysis of the beam - load vector and stiffness matrix - analysis of the structure - global load vector and stiffness matrix - solution of equations - diagrams of internal forces - solution of the reactions and the check of the equilibrium - influence of temperature effects, shifts of the supports - review of software

Learning outcomes
Evaluation of influence lines. Extreme values of static quantities. Introduction to the stiffness method for analysis of the statically indeterminate (planar bar systems) structures. Simplification to the stiffness method for analysis of planar bar systems, plane trusses. Temperature effects, shifts of the supports.
Student will be able (i) to evaluate influence lines and (ii) to analyse internal forces of statically undetermined structures using stiffness method.
