Course content
1. Basic terminology. 2. Bridge terminology. Normative background of design. 3. Bridge design principles. Loading of bridge structures. 4. Superstructure of statically definite bridge structures (slab, beam and frame structures, passes). 5. Prefabricated superstructures of bridges for the span of small and medium length. 6. Bridge superstructure and bridge deck of road bridges and railway bridges. 7. Bridge superstructure and bridge deck. 8. Bridge equipment and accessories. 9. Bearings, bridge expansion joints. 10. Construction of bridge structures. 11. Project documentation. 12. Bridge construction technology. 13. Bills of quantities and their creation including valuation.

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with the principles of design and assessment of bridge structures. Teaching is focused on design solutions, computational procedures, technology of production and construction, material of bridge structures, bridge assemblies, bridge equipment.
After the course completion, student will gain basic knowledge and skills in the field of bridge construction and reconstruction.
