Course content
1. Basic methods of improving the foundation soil. Concept EUROCODE 7 2. Earth Pressure Theory, Design shallow basis for 3 geotechnical category. 3. Excavation Structural Support 4. Settlement in shallow foundations 5. Deep foundations, pile foundations. 6. Building pit sloped, sheeted and sealed: the appropriateness of their use, construction technology, design calculation in simple terms. Slope stability analysis 7. Special pilots. 8. Micropiles: technology, design calculation. Non-rigid horizontally loaded piles. 9. Piled grids. 10. Drainage pits, Ground water 11. Micropiles, production technology, static structural analysis 12. Modern methods. Geogrid Reinforced earth wall, prefabricated, modern structures

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with the methods of foundation engineering in relation to transport structures and engineering.
Students have a theoretical foundation in the design slope pits, control methods of deep foundations and retaining structures design. Exercises are familiar with the software GEO 5, which they can apply to individual tasks that are associated with starting construction.
