Course content
1. Review of basic knowledge 2. Introduction to the general procedure and evaluation of the achieved numerical results. 3. Theoretical verification of the correct behavior of elements. 4. Review of SW Scia Engineer. 5. Use of simplifying assumptions, boundary conditions. 6. Modeling of real structures in SW Scia Engineer. 7. Evaluation of the achieved results in SW Scia Engineer. 8. Modeling of bridge structures in SW Scia Engineer. 9. Modeling and simulation of the behavior of elements in the Atena 2D environment. 10. Modeling of elements/structures in the Atena Science environment (GID). 11. Evaluation of the achieved results in the Atena Science environment. 12. Modeling of bridges in the Allpan Bridge environment. 13. Modeling of bridges in the Allpan Bridge environment.

  • Contact teaching - 39 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 10 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with the possibilities of application of computational softwares and with the evaluation of achieved numerical outputs. The course is primarily focused on practical application of Scia Engineer. Additionally Atena SW (Červenka Consulting) and Allpan Engineer SW.

Student performance assessment

After completing the course, student is able to create the design and evaluate of bridges in Scia Engineer SW. Student get acquainted with Atena SW and Allplan Engineer SW.
