Course content
1. Advanced modeling and calculation of bridge structures using 1D and 2D elements in Scia Engineer SW. 2. Design of construction nodes. 3. Models of loading diagrams. 4. Static and dynamic design assessment. 5. Application of Scia Engineer SW. Design and assessment of artificial structures (bridges, culverts) according to valid Eurocodes - assessment of reinforced concrete structures. 6. Application of Scia Engineer SW. Design and assessment of artificial structures (bridges, culverts) according to valid Eurocodes - assessment of prestressed concrete structures. 7. Application of Scia Engineer SW. Design and assessment of artificial structures (bridges) according to valid Eurocodes - assessment of steel structures. 8. Calculations and assessments of the substructures. Application of Scia Engineer SW. 9. Simulation of behavior of concrete elements and bridge structures using Atena 2D SW. 10. Simulation of behavior of concrete elements and bridge structures using Atena 3D SW. 11. Simulation of behavior of concrete elements and bridge structures using Atena Science SW (GID environment). 12. Simulation of behavior of concrete elements and bridge structures using Atena Science SW (GID environment) - continuation. 13. Evaluation of results achieved using Atena Science SW (Atena Studio computing environment).

Work-related activities
  • Contact teaching - 52 hours per semester
  • Individual project - 69 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Extended knowledge of students in the possibilities of computer softwares. The appplied softwares are Scia Engineer SW and Atena SW.
After completing the course, student is able to create the design and evaluate of bridges in Scia Engineer SW and Atena SW.
