Mineralogy - nomenclature and classification of minerals, mineral formation, physical properties, crystallography 13. Petrology and Petrography - origin and distribution of rocks, properties of rocks, rock structure

Learning outcomes
|
To teach students basic knowledge of geology and petrography (basics of mineralogy, petrology and petrography).
After completing the course the student is able to identify and classify basic rock-forming minerals, basic igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, is able to work and orientate on geological maps and charts.
