Course content
1. Introduction to municipal engineering 2. The issue of the quality system of roads - legislative framework. 3. The issue of road quality system - quality requirements of buildings. 4. Barrier-free treatment of public areas in the urban environment. 5. Urban furniture and placing of traffic signs. 6. Excursion of the utilities network system in the field (Part 1). 7. Spatial coordination (spatial arrangement) of technical equipment utilities. 8. Problems of management and classification of utilities including associated routes. 9. Excursion of the utilities network system in the field (Part 2). 10. Rainwater management and surface drainage. 11. Designing utility roads with a direct connection to municipal engineering. 12. Excursion of the utilities network system in the field (Part 3) 13. Final summary

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Contact teaching - 11 hours per semester
  • Writing a seminar paper - 40 hours per semester
  • Home preparation for classes - 80 hours per semester
  • Preparation of a presentation (report) - 19 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
to acquaint students with activities related to the design and construction of urban engineering buildings and utilities. The practical part of the course also includes an excursion of the utilities network system in the urban agglomeration.
After completing the course, student gain basic knowledge and skills in the field of municipal engineering.
