Course content
Electric production. Source and thier characteristics. Hydroelectric power plant. Wind-power plant. Solar photovoltaic plant. Heat power plant. Nuclear power plant Transmission and distribution system. Energy calculation of energy consumption. Energy measurement. Legislation at power engineering Traction energy consumption. Excursion. Time reserve, learning up.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with problems of electric production, transmission and distribution system, sort of energy power plants, AC and DC system characteristics. During course students are also familiarized with methods for calculation of energy consumption a losses, operating effects, legisdlation at power engineering as well.
After passing out this course student earns knowledge of Power Engineering and he is able to apply it.
Prerequisites
It is assumed that the student has the basic knowledge about electrical engineering, electronics, and other branches (power devices, systems, e.t.). The student´s knowledge are deepened in field of power engineering.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

During the winter half and at the final exam student has to prove understanding solved problems. The teacher imparts specific requests in the first semester's week.
