Course content
Introduction to the issue Content aspect of the bachelor thesis, goal, structure, methods Formal layout of the bachelor thesis (basic rules, compulsory requirements of the thesis) Formal layout of the bachelor thesis (layout of tables, pictures, appendices) Sources of information for the bachelor thesis, their search and possibilities of their use Citation of professional literature (basic terms, reasons for citation, citation ethics) Citation of professional literature (general rules of citation, bibliographic citations of printed sources) Citation of professional literature (bibliographic citations of electronic sources) Citation of professional literature (work with professional text, in-text citations) Typographic rules and their use in the bachelor thesis Linguistic and stylistic aspect of the bachelor thesis Basic rules of rhetoric Preparation of presentation and defense of the bachelor thesis

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information about writing and formal layout of a bachelor thesis and its defense.
After completing the course, students know the basic rules that must be followed when writing bachelor theses, both in terms of content and form, they can structure the work and create citations of professional literature. They can also prepare the defense of the bachelor thesis.
Prerequisites
Mastering of Czech grammar and stylistics at the secondary school level and knowledge of the basics of informatics are assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

The student must demonstrate both orientation in the issue of final theses and the ability to independently elaborate a certain assignment with the prescribed formal requirements. The teacher will communicate the specific requirements to the students in the first week of the semester.
