Course content
|
1. Route flights - choice of routes, speeds, altitudes, alternate airports, timetable, VFR flights, calculations, weather, schedule fuel, deposits. 2. Flight monitoring - fuel calculations, consumption, reassessment. 3. Rescheduling on the fly in case of problems. 4. Flight plan - types, filling in, filing, closing, compliance. 5. Practical processing of the flight plan - calculation of the critical point (CP), including points of the same amount of fuel a point of equal time (PET), calculation of limit point of return (PNR) and point of safe return (PSR), OFP. 6. Preparation of maps and fuel plan. 7. Processing of the navigation plan and radio resources. 8. IFR flights - analysis of the current weather situation, high-altitude winds at the take-off airport, destination airport and possible alternate airports. 9. IFR flights - routing of flight paths, frequencies and identifiers of radio navigation devices, minimum altitudes, standard instrument departures (SID) and arrivals (STAR). 10. IFR flights - checking AIP and NOTAM, selecting altitudes or flight levels for each flight segment, calculating flight time on route for each section of the flight to the destination airport and to the alternate airport and determination of the total flight time on the route. 11. IFR flights - preliminary study of instrument approach procedures and minima at destination and alternate airports. 12. MRJT jet flight planning - fuel planning, calculation of point of equal time (PET) and point of safety return (PSR). 13. Computer-processed flight planning - general principles of current systems.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with issues and procedures in flight planning and monitoring, route selection, level and speed, flight plan, operational flight plan.
After completing the course, the student orients himself in the planning and execution of flights within the scope of ATPL.

Knowledge of the syllabus for the PPL category pilot license.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination
The condition for participation in the exam is to obtain the credit. This condition is for full-time form of study. The credit confirms that the student participated in the required range and that he / she met the requirements that are conditional on the credit granting. The conditions for granting the credit are determined by the teacher in the first week of the lecture period of the semester. The exam for the full-time form of study is determined in accordance with the UPa Study and Examination Regulations.
