Learning outcomes
The objective of this subject is to present to students an overview of basic engineering technologies with focus on the area of road vehicles. Students are informed on necessary technical aspects applied to individual technologies, with their physical and metallurgical basis with respect to their present state and prospects of further development. Much attention is paid to the practical side of the acquired knowledge, intensified with excursions to selected engineering plants and companies.
Students will acquire overview of technology of casting, forming, welding, brazing, parting and machining the main types of metal materials.
Prerequisites
To pass the subject successfully, knowledge and skills acquired by passing the subject of Materials Science are necessary, informing the student on types and characteristics of structural materials, used in the area of mechanical technologies. From the point of view of logical consequence, this order of subjects is necessary.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination
The requirements will be defined by lecturer.
