Course content
Introduction. Transport engineering and traffic safety. The movement of a single vehicle. Transport prognosis. Transport exploration. The capacity of roads and crossroads. The detection of capacity of roads and suggestions for removing of congestions. Various measures for organization and regulation of traffic. Zebras. Traffic signing. Crossroads with traffic-lights - general principles, the impact of establishment of traffic-lights controlled crossroads to their construction organization. Crossroads with traffic-lights - The proposal of the signal plan. System of control. Crossroads with traffic-lights - The "Green wave". Crossroads with traffic-lights - Preferring of public transport vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. Presentation of various transport engineering projects. Spare time, subject summary.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce the transport engineering problem, traffic safety, traffic signing principles and crossroads´ control process. All with presentation of examples.
After passing the subject, the student is able to apply organization and regulation measures to increase the capacity and safety of city traffic.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

The credit confirms that the student has attended the lessons in certain frequency and that has fulfilled all requirements. The conditions of credit awarding depend on the teacher. The examination (form, content, length) is given by "Study and Examination Order".
