Course content
Introduction, definitions and basic conceptions. Aspects of passenger transport, characteristic of transport modes. Basic indices in passenger transport, quality in passenger transport, methods of determining of passengers' flows, types of irregularities in passenger transport, empiric models in transport planning. Characteristic of suburban transport and types of time schedules, requirements on vehicles and infrastructure in suburban transport. Integrated transport systems in the Czech Republic and transport associations abroad Regional transport and integrated improved frequency time schedule, characteristic of regional transport, requirements on the integrated improved frequency time schedules, construction of the integrated improved frequency time tables, examples of the integrated improved frequency time scheduled abroad. Introduction in questions of high-speed railway transport, historical development, legal acts in the field of high-speed railway transport, ways of operation on the high-speed railway lines. High-speed railway lines and high-speed trains, examples of practical utilising of high-speed transport. Characteristic of interchange terminals and its classification, bus terminals, terminals and tariff points of city public mass transport, terminals of railway passenger transport and its classification and its arrangement, buildings of railway passenger transport terminals, side railway stations´. Characteristic of non-conventional transport systems, its development and classification. Examples of non-conventional transport systems in practise. Systems of transport service - characteristic and examples. Pedestrian and cycling transport, individual car transport and static transport, water passenger transport, air transport. Infrastructure for high-speed transport. Time reserve, summary of the subject matters.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to inform students about the wide area of technology and control of passenger transport with the characteristic of separate areas with sphere of activity of passenger transport.
Student is able to characterize individual passenger transport modes and areas with sphere of activity of passenger transport with characteristic of its interdependences and specifics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

For students of the full-time study participation in an examination is conditioned by obtaining a course credit. The obtained course credit confirms that the full-time student attended the lessons in the required amount, that he/she met the requirements for acquiring the course credit and may proceed to take the examination. Conditions for acquiring the course credit are stipulated by the teacher during the first week of the semester lecture period. The examination in the subject (its form, content and duration) is determined in compliance with the Study and Examination Regulations of the University of Pardubice.
