Common principles for determining the capacity of surface transport networks, including interchanges and terminals. Methods of determining the capacity of transport routes in individual modes of transport, dimensioning the performance of transport hubs and terminals and other passenger and freight transport facilities. The use of new technical and technological elements (e.g. ERTMS, ETCS, telematic applications, ITS) to solve capacity problems and optimise traffic management. Measures to increase capacity. Impact of abnormal transport conditions on the capacity of critical elements. Transport network development and efficiency assessment. Modelling of selected capacity problems on transport networks. Selected problems of the course according to the doctoral student's specialization and dissertation topic.

Výstupy z učení
|
The course is designed to emphasise the influence of the capacity of the elements of the transport system and how they interact to affect the overall performance of the transport system.
Students will have an understanding of network capacity issues and be able to analyse the current state of the network and propose solutions through the use of mathematical tools and modelling.
