Course content
Introduction; Theoretical fundamentals of analytical chemistry; Sample pretreatment, processing of analytical results Principles of qualitative analysis of inorganic compounds; Basic approaches for analysis of organic compounds Principles of quantitative analysis of inorganic compounds; Protolytic reactions, complexing reactions, red-ox reactions, precipitation reactions Basic concepts of instrumental analysis - theoretical fundaments and instrumentations Examples of aspplication Electroanalytical methods - potentiometry, voltametry, other electroanalytical methods (conductometry, coulometry, electrogravimetry etc.) Spectral and optical methods - atomic emission spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy, molecular absorption spectroscopy (UV/VIS, IR) Selected separation methods - gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, planar chromatography Electrophoresis, isotachophoresis

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to supply information to students about fundamentals of chemical analysis and to practice the subject matter by the characteristic examples.
Students after graduation of the subject "Analytical chemistry" together with the subject C719 "Analytical chemistry laboratory course" are competent to execute the simpler procedures in analytical laboratories equipped with the basic accessories

High school knowledge of analytical chemistry

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment

Current check of study - 2 written tests - 30 % of grade, written part of examination - 40 %, oral examination - 30 %.
