This course is designed for students and researchers in analytical chemistry and related fields who need to design experiments and perform statistical analysis of their data. The main aim of this course is to provide a thorough training in applied statistics using the most popular data analysis programmes.
Understanding the basic concepts, principles, and meaning of univariate and multivariate statistical data analysis methods and mastering the procedure of their application using a suitable software environment. Solving practical tasks and problems in real practise is an integral part of acquiring the skill of finding functional relationships and hidden structure in the data, which are necessary for the correct interpretation of the results.
Prerequisites
Statistical software is used to facilitate the analysis of data sets and the understanding of statistical concepts; no detailed knowledge of mathematics is required.
Assessment methods and criteria
