Course content
Sulfur compounds, raw materials, technology of sulfuric acid production. Oleum. Preparation of synthesis gas, production of ammonia. Production of nitric acid, concentrated nitric acid. Phosphorus and its production. Phosphoric acid and its production by thermal and extraction way. Phosphoric acid salts. Hydrochloric acid (production by direct synthesis, production by decomposition of sodium chloride). Technology of hydrofluoric acid. Technology of sodium carbonate. Electrochemical processes. Inorganic pigments, summary and properties. Titanium dioxide production (the sulfate and chloride process). Production of other white pigments (zinc white, lithopone) Coloured inorganic pigments (based on Fe(III), Cr(III), Cd(II)) Inorganic fillers, their classification, survey and properties

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is knowledge of all basic production technologies of inorganic compounds. Absolvent can describe the process with focus on raw materials and wastes. Students can utilize the knowledge of physical-chemical principles in every important point of production. Students retrieve the information about industry of inorganic compound in CZ.
Students are able to describe all basic production technologies, judged the impact of technology on environment. Students can evaluate the use of products.

Knowledge of course: Inorganic Technology, Principles of Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engeneering

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Oral examination. Discussion is the basic form of examination. There is examined degree of acquired knowledge, conceptions and application skills.
