Within the 3rd year of the SP Biomaterials, students complete at least 2 weeks of mandatory professional practice in development, research, or production laboratories of private or state institutions that deal with the issues of biomaterials and cell applications (1 week = 5 working days; 1 working day = 8 hours of practice). Students will gain an overview of these institutions in advance as part of the study of the subject "Professional Practice Seminar", in the teaching of which scientific and research workers from selected institutions will also participate. Thanks to the subject ?"Professional Practice Seminar", students will gain an overview of the portfolio of selected companies and the necessary information about the possibilities of completing professional practice, on the basis of which they will choose the location for carrying out professional practice. Among others, these are, for example, the companies Contipro (Dolní Dobrouč), Generi Biotech (Hradec Králové), Synpo (Pardubice) (see form C-IV including the attached Letter of Interest). Professional practice is carried out during the summer semester of the 3rd year of study after completing four weekly blocks of teaching within the subjects "Laboratory of Solids Characterization" and "Laboratory of Biomaterials." Based on the information obtained, students will search for a workplace for professional practice, from the list of workplaces with which the University of Pardubice has a cooperation agreement, or, after agreement with the guarantor of professional practice, with other institutions according to their preference. Content of professional practice: - organizational structure of the given company/laboratory, operating rules - rules of OHS and PO in practice - familiarization with work in individual sections of the workplace - work on a given project under the professional guidance of the relevant company/laboratory staff - analysis of measured data and their evaluation - processing of relevant documentation and results achieved within professional practice Of particular importance is the student's independent work at a given workplace under professional supervision. After completing the internship, the student will prepare a final report on the progress of the internship in the required format and scope, which he/she will submit to the course guarantor together with a confirmation of completion of the internship. Further requirements for the successful completion of the internship may be set by the given training institution after prior agreement with the course guarantor, where the internship may be accompanied or concluded by, for example, a presentation of the achieved results, preparation of a student project, or evaluation of the obtained outputs.
