Course content
As part of the 2nd year of SP LDZ, students complete 4 weeks of mandatory practice in the laboratories of the given specialization. Professional practice I is implemented during the 2nd year of study after completing the appropriate laboratory exercises within the study, to which the professional practice follows. The subject includes completion of 4 weeks of professional practice (1 week = 5 working days; 1 working day = 8 hours of practice) in accordance with the Qualification Standard for ZL, i.e. students must always complete at least one week of practice within the department of histology/pathology/cytology, genetics/ molecular biology, hematology and transfusion medicine, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry and hygiene; i.e. always at least one week in each of the eight fields of professional practice. Students will actively look for a workplace for professional practice, primarily from the list of workplaces with which the University of Pardubice has a cooperation agreement. Only students who have been properly vaccinated against the hepatitis B virus can start the internship. Contents of professional practice: - organizational structure of the given company/laboratory, operational rules - OSH and PO rules in practice - familiarization with work in individual sections of the workplace - handling of biological waste - reception of biological material to the laboratory - sample registration and sample storage - analyzing samples, evaluating results and processing relevant documentation Of particular importance is the independent work of the student at the workplace under professional supervision. After the end of the professional practice, the student prepares a final report on the progress of the professional practice, which he submits to the subject guarantor together with a confirmation of completing the practice in the professional practice Logbook before credit is awarded.

Completion of 4 weeks of professional practice during II. year. Delivery of a certificate of completion of the internship and a final report from the professional internship in the required format and scope (= LOGBOOK). Completion of the relevant laboratory exercises from the fields of the compulsory part of the practice is a condition for completing professional practice.
