Learning activities and teaching methods
Laboratory work
Learning outcomes
Students are going to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for evaluation of growth of selected bacterial species on various culture media, evaluation of cell (spore) morphology, determination of biochemical characteristics using conventional and commercial tests and modern methods of diagnosis.
Students become acquainted with microscopy techniques, evaluation of growth of selected bacterial species on different culture media, evaluation of cell morphology, determination of biochemical characteristics with conventional and commercial tests, as well as serotyping.
Prerequisites
KBBV/C459 Laboratory of general microbiology
KBBV/C459

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

The knowledge and laboratory skills are verified in laboratory by iden tification of unknown microbial strain. Furthermore, preparation for each laboratory practice is checked by a short test.
