Learning outcomes |
Laboratory tests of clinical material (prepared in the laboratory) are carried out on the basis of request forms, including anamnesis data. The aim is the isolation of infectious agents and its determination in accordance with morphological, growth, biochemical and antigenic characteristics and clinical microbiological assessment of results. Part of the examination is determining of sensitivity of isolated microorganism to antibacterial drugs.
Students become acquainted with clinical and microbiological assessment of infectious diseases. Furthermore, they evaluate results and recommend other laboratory procedures. |
