Course content
|
Determination of lethal time, temperature. Effect of pH. Effect of osmotic pressure and UV light on the growth of microorganisms. Effect of disinfectants. The effect of antibiotics. Effect of dyes on microorganisms. Determination of the number of microorganisms on the surface of objects. Determination of water purity. Biochemical tests based on carbohydrate conversion. Biochemical tests based on the conversion of nitrogenous substances. Other biochemical tests. Biochemical wedge, diagnostic microtests, TNW identification program. Yeast identification tests (auxanograms, zymograms). Final thesis: identification of an unknown sample based on microscopic, macroscopic and biochemical tests. Control test.

Learning outcomes
|
Practices of general microbiology, the influence of intrisic factors on the growth of microorganisms, the principles and preparation of biochemical tests for indentification of microorganisms. Students also govern determination of microorgnisms in air, water and surfaces.
Student governs kultivation techniques and identification of microorganisms using biochemical tests.
