Course content
1. Social communication - issues of interpersonal communication, one´s ego and communication - self-conception, self-consciousness, self-revealing. 2. Essence of communication - characteristics, communication models, personality types in communication. 3. Verbal communication - kinds of verbal communication, types of interview, conversation, dialogue. 4. Non-verbal communication - non-verbal communication theory, its meaning, interpretation of non-verbal exhibitions, advantage and disadvantage of non-verbal communication, illustration. 5. Listening to somebody - process of listening, active and effective listening to somebody. 6. Communication models - transactional analysis, Johary´s windows. 7. Public speech - characteristics, preparation of a speech, informative and persuasive speech. 8. Rhetoric - fundamentals of rhetoric, personal presentation, public presentation - preparing, technical insurance, audio-visual aids, methods of feedback. 9. Communication in exacting situations - communication in conflict, stress and manipulation and its managing. 10. Communication barrier - problems in communication, classification of communication barriers. 11. Sound communication - rules and methods, characteristics of sound communication personality. 12. Communication in small groups - members of groups, leaders. Practical presentation of students - making wideo-recording, feedback. 13. Communication with public - features of mass communication, media, public relations. 14. Communication in companies - its function, communication channels, media, barriers and problems in this communication.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Methods of individual activities, Skills training
Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to provide students with fundamentals of psychology and social communication, to introduce them principles of effective interpersonal communication and practise its practical usage.
Once students finish the course, they should be prepared for more effective communication within human society. Not only they learn how to comunicate correctly, how to cope with stress, how to solve conflicts and how to behave assertively but they gain also important practical experiences thanks to oral presentation. Ability of public presentation is essential qualification both during the following study (for example, plea of bachelor or diploma thesis) and within the life course of each individual.
Prerequisites
The students needn´t pass any subject before.

Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment

Public presentation. Exam has oral and written part.
