Course content
Week 1 Definition of the subject of chemical production economics, basic categories of economic management of an enterprise, economic value of the asset. Week 2 Production revenues and costs, methods of estimating production costs. Week 3 Basics of economic analysis in chemical production. Week 4 Calculation and its use in management along the output line. Week 5 Influence of the nature of chemical production on methods of calculating the cost of outputs. Week 6 System of plans and budgets. Week 7 Decision-making on existing capacity, "either-or" tasks, economic optimization when deciding on the structure of the assortment of manufactured and sold outputs at existing capacity. Week 8 Decision-making on future capacity in a manufacturing enterprise, general starting points. Week 9 Economic evaluation of projects, project cost management. Week 10 Economic evaluation of the selection of a new production facility, decision-making on its location. Week 11 Sustainability Management - Environmental Management System (EMS) according to ISO 14001 and EMAS, context of the chemical industry. Week 12 Environmental Aspects Register - identification, assessment of significance Week 13 Environmental Accounting - identification of environmental costs, their reflection in cost calculations

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of business economy, its tools and procedures focusing on the specifics of chemical industry enterprises.
By completing this course, the student deepens his knowledge of business management, enriched with the specifics of chemical production. He / she is able to orientate in the given issue and calculations necessary for common business management including its further development and financing. He has the competence to use common process and performance management tools.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for the course is knowledge of the basic course of business economics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

The exam is oral. The degree of acquired knowledge, concepts and application skills is examined. During the semester, knowledge is verified by a written test, the results of which are included in the overall classification. Active work on the exercises is evaluated.
