Course content
Basic characteristics of law. Private and public law. Fundamental rights and freedoms. Principles of private law and its sources. Private law and its elements. Legal action and other legal facts, limitation and preclusion. Title and other rights in rem. Contract law. Business corporations. Intellectual property law. Basics of competition law. Judicial and other legal protection. Fundamentals of European law.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of law. In addition to selected aspects of law theory, attention is paid primarily to private law.
After completing the course students will acquire a basic idea of the legal system. Knowledge of the fundamentals of law is essential for the further teaching of legal subjects.
Prerequisites
The prerequisite for the study of the subject is knowledge of law at the secondary school level.

Written examination

The exam is written. The level of knowledge acquired is tested in the exam.
