Course content
Corporate innovation, basic conception, innovation sources. Innovation and economic growth, support of innovation process. Management of innovations. Current challanges, globalisation consequences, competetivness. Strategic innovation management. Management of changes. Tactical-operational innovation management, Innovation projects. Portfolio of innovation projects. Innovation project steps, decision-making process. Financial sssessment and measurement of innovation projects. Risk assessment. Non-financial sssessment and measurement of innovation projects. Marketing relationship, product life cycle. Environmental and social assessment of innovation project. Research and development, legal protection. Transfer technology. Innovations in chemical industry. Innovations in EU. Innovations and sustainable development. Innovations and human factor.

Learning outcomes
The goal of lessons is to present for students basics of modern concept of innovation and investments management focused on an economic profile. Current pro-innovation policy and conditions in European Union area are presented as well as relationship with chemical and food production, environment and sustainable development.
After finishing are students acquainted with elementary economic consequences on the field of innovations and investments management, focused on specific conditions in chemical and food industry. They are able to share as a member on specific innovation project, judge the feasibility of project and use basic method for project assessment. It supplies the knowledge on the field of pro-innovative policy of EU in European Area.
Prerequisites
Knowledge in mathematics and business economics and management on bachelor level is needed for study of the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Oral exam required. Oral exam is introduced with written test. Selected questions are more deeply discussed. Level of acquired knowledge, approaches, as well as skill in practice application is examined. During the term the knowledge is verified by two practical business case solutions, its result is considered as a part of final classification. Emphasis is placed on ability to implicate theoretical knowledge to the practical level of pro-innovation and economical conditions in Czech Republic and European Union.
