Course content
Introductory seminar - aims of the subject, familiarisation with topics, general timetable, formal arrangement of the project, choice of topic for the semester project, specification of the aims of the thesis - general principles. Research of professional literature using electronic sources of information - seminar in the University Library of the University of Pardubice. Initial research in the University Library of the University of Pardubice according to the focus of the thesis under the guidance of the project supervisor. Continuation with initial research, proposal of an outline for the semester project. Consultation regarding the thesis outline with the project supervisor. Targeted research. Elaboration of the 1st version of the semester project. Submission of individual completed parts of the semester project to the project supervisor every week, consultation with the project supervisor. Completion of the semester project on the basis of comments by the project supervisor, final consultation, finalisation and submission of the semester project.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to develop students' ability to work with scientific literature and to elaborate the theoretical part of a diploma thesis on the basis of literary research under the guidance of a tutor, this being in the form of a semester project.
After having successfully passed the subject, the student will be able to study independently and handle the selected issue. He or she will have elaborated the theoretical part of his or her diploma thesis.
Prerequisites
A precondition for this is that the student has a good grasp of topics and issues from the field of economics and chemistry relating to the issue being resolved.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

Elaboration of the semester project in line with the instructions of the tutor in a scope of approx. 25 pages.
