Course content
|
Block 1: The Czech chemical industry. The standing of the given company in the Czech chemical industry. Past and present, production programme, technological possibilities and implementation of business. Tour of the plant. Block 2: Key productions of the given company. Excursions within individual productions. Block 3: Environmental protection. Chemical legislation. Occupational safety in a chemical manufacturing company. Block 4: Corporate energy, energy supply, transition to environmentally friendly energy, decarbonisation. Energy excursion. Block 5: Financial management of a chemical manufacturing company, costs, revenues, calculations and basic economic concepts. Options for employment of FCHT UPCE graduates and development of their careers, company benefits. Evaluation of the course in the form of a discussion and a questionnaire.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the practical aspects of operations in a chemical manufacturing company.
After completing the course, students will have a basic idea about the functioning of the selected chemical manufacturing company. They will be able to of compare theoretical knowledge and its application in practice in selected areas of business activities.

Prerequisites
|
The course is intended for students in the 2nd year of bachelor's degree programmes at the FChT.
