Course content
Introduction to the economic system. Company and business. Legal forms of business. Asset and capital structure. Balance Sheet. Nature of costs and revenues. Income statement. Cash flow. Investing in long-term assets. Product-costing systems. Absorption costing and variable costing. Business management - substance, objectives and goals, contemporary trends in business management. Framework of business management. Marketing management - substance of marketing, strategic marketing analysis. Personnel management. Plan implementation. Control and controlling. Organization of enterprises.

Learning outcomes
The goal of lessons is to prepare language in English for students to be acquainted with the scope of corporate economy - basic principles, common tools, methods and calculations used in practice of industrial enterprises. Following goal is to create at students a complex knowledge and skills in business management in contemporary market conditions.
After finishing are students acquainted with elementary economic consequences on the field of business economics and business management. They are able to understand elementary items and calculations required for common business management, included investment management and corporate development. Students are able to define corporate vision, mission, evaluate company environment and corporate position on the market as well as interpret basic budgets, manage them and control them according to process management rules.
Prerequisites
Knowledge in mathematics on high school level is needed for study of the subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Oral exam required. Level of acquired knowledge, approaches, as well as skill in practice application is examined. During term the knowledge is verified by one examination paper, its result is considered as a part of final classification.
