Course content
Ideal gas - basic laws (Boyle's, Charles' law). Calorimetry - measurement of dissolution and hydration temperatures of solids (inorganic salts), determination neutralization enthalpy (acid + base) in the liquid phase. Measurement of food heat. Partial molar volumes, dependence on the composition of the mixture. Equilibrium liquid - vapor in a one-component system (Claisius-Clapeyron equation), calculation of evaporative enthalpies for different solvents. Partition coefficient (determination of its value for organic acid in the toluene-water system). Electromotive cell voltage - measurement and theoretical calculation of EMN cell with transmission. Molar conductivity of strong electrolyte - determination of molar conductivity according to Kohlrausch's law. Kinetics of chemical reactions: Decomposition of the complex [Mn (C2O4)3]3- as a first-order reaction - determination of the rate constant. Determination of activation energy from Arrhenius dependence of rate constant on temperature. Sucrose inversion as a first order reaction, verification - determination of the rate constant. Determination of the equilibrium constant of a chemical reaction.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is the practical application of theoretical knowledge from the subject Fundamentals of Physical Chemistry in laboratory practice. Students get acquainted with the basic instrumental techniques and procedures that they may encounter when measuring physico-chemical properties.
After completing the course, the student is able to handle basic practical tasks in Physical Chemistry.
