Course content
The academic staff have write the assignment of bachelor's theses with a topic related to the issue discussed during the course of study, or with the scientific focus of the department. In the case of a topic taken from practice or solved outside the faculty, a consultant is appointed at the given workplace. The assignment contains the goal of the work, requirements or instructions for the preparation and basic literature. The head of the department approves the topics and releases them for students to apply. The student applies for the selected topic by the end of the winter semester at the latest. At the beginning of the summer semester, the student receives a written assignment of the bachelor's thesis. Specific dates, the method of listing topics, approving assignments and registering students will be specified in the notice of the head of the workplace providing the teaching of the study program. Study literature according to the specific assignment (topic) of the bachelor's thesis.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is the application of theoretical and practical knowledge that the student has acquired in the course of his studies,to solving a specific professional assignment of a bachelor's thesis. This work can be both experimental and theoretical in nature. According to the specific assignment of the work, the student independently searches for theoretical sources for its solution, plans and implements his own experiment, independently evaluates the results and discusses the conclusions with the supervisor.

Prerequisites
Ability to work independently on a given topic, ability to work with literature, basic laboratory skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation, Student performance assessment

Credit is given for a submitted bachelor's thesis processed in accordance with the specified assignment. The thesis meets the formal and other requirements according to the guidelines of the University of Pardubice and is recommended by the supervisor for the defense.
