Learning outcomes
Application of methods for characterization of powder materials with emphasis on methods for determination of particle size distribution (microscopic methods, sedimentation methods, optical methods using light scattering, sensitive zone methods, methods based on Doppler effect), specific surface area (adsorption, permeation and chromatographic methods) and specific gravity. Methods for determining the porosity of powder materials, methods for studying their structure (X-ray and electron diffraction methods) and methods for studying their optical properties will also be discussed.
