The course will discuss modern methods of study and solution of crystal structures. Basic theoretical knowledge from experiments of powder and monocrystalline methods will be developed towards independent solution and evaluation of structures by the student. Emphasis is placed on performing the measurement itself and working with the software. Methods for solving "disordered" or "twinned" structures will be clarified. The superstructure section will explain the strategy for determining the structures of biological material and the use of high-energy radiation sources.
