Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to develop understanding of principles and trends in automation and control in printing industry. The objective is to clarify concepts of digital, automation and communication technologies and functions of key control systems in graphic arts, including their compatibility with information systems.
On completion of this course, the student will be able to explain concepts of automation and control and to describe function principles of control systems used in graphic arts.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge from the following courses: Mathematics I and II, Introduction to physics, Physics for graphic arts, Fundamentals of information technologies, Prepress II, Offset lithography and digital printing technology, Finishing technology, Screen printing and pad printing technology, Flexography and gravure printing technology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination
The course is assessed through oral examination of selected topics proving an insight into course contents.
