The course deals at an appropriate level with the theoretical foundations of physical properties of substances - it combines experimental and theoretical knowledge from physics and partly also chemistry of solids. It serves material-oriented disciplines as a support and complement to the study of other subjects of the study programmes. The student takes away, above all, an awareness of the links between structure and chemical bonding on the one hand and physical properties on the other hand.
