Learning activities and teaching methods
Laboratory work
Learning outcomes
Subject is drawn-up as Lab, which serves to knowledge development and practising of laboratory works and procedures in the coating compositions and organic coating field of expertise. Student gains experience with solvent-borne and water-borne connective base coating compositions preparation and characterization, acquires the physical-mechanical properties tests methodology and gains experiences with tests evaluation of simulated corrosive atmospheres on preset problems. The aim of the subject is to acquaint the student with laboratory preparation of various kinds of coating compositions, organic coating making and testing. Another aim is improve manual skills applicable to various preparations and synthesis carried out in research laboratories.
Graduate is able to participate in works in research and development laboratories specialized for paint matters and organic coats.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of inorganic, organic and macromolecular chemistry. Basic skill in chemical laboratory.

Assessment methods and criteria
Home assignment evaluation

There is an oral examination. Primary form of exam is the debate about selected themes. Level of acquired knowledge, conceptions and application acquirements is examined. Knowledge is examined by test during semester and its result is included into total classification.
