Learning activities and teaching methods
Laboratory work
Learning outcomes
Subject is drawn-up as advanced lab of coating compositions and organic coatings branch. Study of anti-corrosion pigments effect, organic inhibitors, inorganic filling agents and specific efficiency of various additives and auxiliary agents for coating compositions is realized in a well-arranged and detailed way. Laboratory technique for coating compositions, organic coatings, powder materials and polymer binding agents preparation and testing is used for laboratory work. The student elaborates individually assigned topic in a seminar paper. The aim of the subject is to improve qualification and skills associated with preparation and evaluation of organic coatings.
Student will be able to prepare a wide range of various organic coatings. Also he/she will be able to precisely evaluate their mechanical and anticorrosive properties.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of inorganic, organic and macromolecular chemistry. Basic skill in chemical laboratory.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

There is an oral examination. Primary form of exam is the debate about selected themes. Level of acquired knowledge, conceptions and application acquirements is examined. Knowledge is examined by test during semester and its result is included into total classification.
