Course content
|
Weeks 1-12: Professional practice at the workplace of the partner organization. Introduction to the organizational structure of the given partner organization. OHS and PO rules specific to the given workplace. Professional activity of the student at the workplace of the partner organization under the professional supervision of a responsible employee, analysis and evaluation of results, and processing of documentation. Week 13: Final seminar - student presentations introducing the course of the practice, acquired experience and results of the work. The necessary study literature or other aids depend on the specific professional focus and equipment of the workplace of the partner company.

Learning outcomes
|
The student completes the mandatory professional internship in a partner company with an adequate professional focus, with which a Contract on mutual cooperation in the implementation of the professionally focused study program Innovative polymer materials and coatings was signed. The aim of the professional internship is to enable the student to deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired through study in industrial practice, to acquire new skills and experience in companies focused on the production, processing, application, development and testing of polymers, composites, polymer fibers, coatings and raw materials for their production (binders, pigments, fillers, additives, etc.). An integral part is a closer acquaintance with the corporate structure, the setting and operation of processes in the organization and management of industrial production. The student's independent work at the workplace of the partner company under the professional supervision of a responsible employee is of great importance.
Deepening the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired through study in industrial practice, acquiring new skills and experience in industrial enterprises, and becoming more familiar with the corporate structure, setup, and operation of processes in the organization.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student will prepare a semester paper on the course of the professional practice - a written report in which he/she will describe the work performed and evaluate the experience gained during the practice. The minimum length is 3-5 pages. The student will also describe the course of the practice and his/her experience in the form of a presentation within a joint seminar. Credit is awarded based on the submission of the semester paper, active participation in the final seminar and written confirmation from a responsible employee of the organization in which the practice was carried out.
