Course content
1st week Basic concepts of the manufacturing industry according to the legislation of the Czech Republic. Industrial waste, waste management and processing. 2nd week Cellulose - occurrence, properties, derivatives. Oxycellulose production and processing technology, processing and use. 3rd week Nitrocellulose production and processing technology, properties and use. 4th week Synthetic paper production and processing technology - types and uses. 5th week Technology of production and processing of corrugated cardboard - news in the processing industry, equipment. 6th week Technology of manufacturing products from corrugated cardboard - corrugated cardboard also replaces chipboard. Week 7 Printing paper production technology, raw materials for printing paper production. 8th week Technology for the production of endless forms - types and uses. 9th week Label paper production technology. 10th week Recycling of raw materials in the paper and non-paper industry - options. 11th week Fibers - basic concepts, division, natural fibers. 12th week Animal fibers - division, types, characterization. 13th week Chemical and synthetic fibers - division, types, characterization.

Learning outcomes
The subject builds on knowledge from the subject of paper production technology. It introduces students to packaging materials based on paper, cardboard and plastics, to the basic terms of packaging technology, to the characteristics of raw materials and the breakdown of packaging based on paper, cardboard and plastics, to the technological principles of basic processes for the production of surface-enhanced materials and the technological principles of basic processes for the production of packaging and methods of evaluation of packaging materials and packaging.
