Course content
Materials for surface engineering. adjustments. Polymer organic and inorganic coatings. Materials based on polymers, functional additives of an inorganic and organic nature, special pigments and fillers for functional organic coatings, polymers and composites. New materials for advanced polymer coatings, conductive polymers, powdered metallic, non-metallic or oxide substances and their nanoparticles. Properties of the surfaces of metals, non-metal and mineral substrates. Composition, structure and properties of protective and functional coatings on various substrates.

Learning outcomes
The course acquaints students of the doctoral study program with materials designed for polymeric organic and inorganic coatings or layers. The course aims to expand students' knowledge of polymer-based materials, functional additives of inorganic and organic character, special pigments and fillers suitable for organic coatings, polymers and composites. New materials for polymer coatings are introduced, such as conductive polymers, powdered metallic, non-metallic or oxide substances and their nanoparticles. Emphasis is placed on understanding the relationship between the composition, structure and properties of protective and functional coatings on the investigated substrates
